Today friends and foes, is “Skärtorsdag” in Sweden. One of the most - if not the most - magically charged days of the whole year. This Thursday evening is the one to chose, if you are about to do some magic.
There ain’t many sources talking about obvious connections to Thor this day, but in Christian tradition in Scandinavia, this is the most “devilish” of all days. The night when witches flew to Blåkulla to feast with the Devil himself - so naturally there are strong parallels to heathen cults this evening.
The picture shows a statue of Thor, standing on a roof at the Carlsberg Brewhouse in Copenhagen. It’s called “Thor’s battle against the Jötunns” and was made by Carl Johan Bonnesen.
